Baptism

Not a translation but a transliteration
[Just changed the Greek word to the English]
Definition = “ to place into” or “‘under”  [A CASE FOR SUBMERSION]
Mt 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water:
Joh 3:23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.
Ac 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
Baptism does not necessarily mean water.
Mt 20:22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of  the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? (crucifixion)
ie. Are you able to be placed into the situation that I am going to be placed into?
Mr 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
1Co 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea [placed under Moses’ leadership, placed under the protection of the cloud, placed into the sea for protection.
Receptivity of the word of God required to be truly baptized
Ac 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Believe and be baptized  [true biblical baptism must be preceded by faith in the Savior]
Mr 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.[note the order and the implication no belief no salvation]’
Repentance required for true biblical baptism
Ac 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, [true and effective baptism must be accompanied by repentance ie recognition and refutation of sins

Ac 8:30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? [Rules out infant baptism]
Preaching of the Gospel to precede water baptism
1Co 1:17 ¶ For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel [Apostle Paul]
Receptivity of the Holy Spirit is included in true biblical baptism
Ac 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
One faith, one Lord, One baptism many baptisms but “only one placing into Christ”
Ga 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. [placed into Christ]

Signifies our death, burial, and resurrection [picture of Christ and identification with Him]
Ro 6:3  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Ro 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Water baptism symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ
Change of ownership
Ac 2:38  baptized every one of you in the name [authority] of Jesus Christ .
Change of direction
Lu 3:7 Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come   Change of attitude
Mt 3:6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
Change of life

And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.
[Show of evidence of following a different Master]
Water baptism is an Outward profession of an inner possession
Mt 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
Baptism for the dead 1Co 15:29  [ this is not a command to baptize for the dead but an argument for the resurrection saying that it is foolish for some to baptize for the dead if the dead do not rise.
Le 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead,
De 14:1 ¶ Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.
Just because some do things for the dead does not mean God’s people are to practice these.
In fact  they are warned against doing such things
1Pe 3:21 ¶ The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: Noah and his family were placed into the Ark, A type  of Christ, and saved from the flood judgment [figure of placed into Christ]

The Deity of Christ

Christ’s example as The Adam that got it right and lived by the power of Another.   “ Not my words”, “not my works” “I do nothing of my own”.    “Not My will but Thine be done”. Reveals to us that when we talk of the Deity of The Christ we must understand it in relation to His Humility. For though He was equal with The Father He submitted to the Want, Will, and Plan of the God Head for the redemption of man. Thus the Deity that The Son of God expressed and demonstrated while here on earth was that of His Father not His own. This in turn teaches us as the sons of God that we are by design to live by the power, guidance, and will of the God who indwells us. (Internal Life)

THIS IS TREEMENDOUS

Isn’t it interesting that man got in trouble at a tree, Christ redeemed man at a tree, and man is united to Christ at a tree (Christ said in effect I am the tree you are the branches and apart from me you can do nothing) He’s talking about Internal Life. While sharing the “Treemendous” lesson that the lord gave me it dawned on me how tremendous this really is. It contains the need for Salvation, the fall, the access to Salvation, the cross, and mystery of Salvation (Col. 1:26,27), Christ in you. Ro 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. This is His resurrected Life in us (Internal Life) You must have Internal Life to have Eternal Life
